Another One of These Going Nowhere Things
I thought it would be a good idea to at least write one thing a day. This is why I have written this. A bit pointless, you really have to be in the right mood to write anything.
As I go through the day, I have ideas for things to put in the blog. I even start to write them in my head. I can have many such imaginary articles started in the course of a day. When I actually sit down to write them, most vanish like a puff of smoke.
The few I'm left with never seem to go from my imagination to the keyboard the way I intend. This is the limitation of imagination. It is a wonderful part of the human psyche. Some believe it evolved to give us an ability that our ancestors species lacked. The ability to plan to ensure our survival.
Not hindered by the physical limitations of our body and the world, our minds could fly, our thoughts knowing no limits. It was only when we had to try and use those ideas outside our mind we discover the limitations of the physical. We used those ideas and limitations to learn new ways of interacting with our world. We gained knowledge from it. We could pass this on verbally to others. In time their own imaginations could recreate the original concepts and sometimes change them.
Eventually we found a way of storing knowledge - the good and important ideas. After we were gone it still existed. It could be passed on to others without having to remember it all. This we called writing and without it, we would have no reliable history. Everything we had ever learned or created would become a myth.
Which brings me back to what I am going to write in my blog. Surprising how wonderful the imagination is and I still can't think of anything to write.
